This week, we had a wonderful zone conference in the Valencia. We enjoyed a leadership meeting with our zone leaders, sister training leaders, and district leaders to begin the day. President Dayton led a discussion about President Kimabal's 8 leadership principles.
During zone conference, I gave the first presentation, Flooding Spain With the Book of Mormon. Elders Beck and Farrer, the zone leaders of the Valencia, taught about recognizing the Spirit, and Hermanas LeSueur and Lima explained the Spain Barcelona Mission Emergency Plan. Following these presentations, Elder Hodgman taught us "Lecciones en Español." Elder Smith taught a teaching trick, and President ended the morning session by teaching on the topic Creating a Powerful Missionary Team at the Local Level. The missionaries also participated in a práctica (practice session) on working with ward members.
For lunch, we enjoyed a magnificent paella made by a member named Concha from valencia 3rd ward. We also had a special strawberry salad made by Hermanas LeSueur and Lima, as well as a delicious apple crumble made by Hermanas Snowden and Gibson. During lunch, the missionaries do what they call "volver e informar" (return and report). This is where they report on their baptismal goals for the last month and the current month as well as the number of baptisms they were able to see. It is an exciting and fun part of lunch.
We had a beautiful number by Elders Beck, Gardner, and Lattin, and Hermanas Lima and LeSueuer.
For the afternoon session, we began with our scriptural memorization challenge and a musical number. Elders Bristol and Dixon, the assistants, gave a presentation called "It's a Thursday" (companionship unity). We then sang "Fill the World With Love. President Dayton's afternoon teaching was titled "Using Family History to Increase Success and Retention." We concluded with a video, Missionary Work and the Atonement, and then we enjoyed a very spiritual testimony meeting.
