Valencia Zone Conference (March 22, 2018)

We enjoyed a leadership meeting with our zone leaders, sister training leaders, and district leaders to begin the day. Elder Duersch and Elder Bristol led a discussion about the responsabilities of the varied leadership of the mission. They're putting together a training booklet, so everyone gave input. The final booklets will be handed out at Concilio. I gave the first presentation, Come Listen to a Prophet's Voice. Elder Stephenson and Beck, the zone leaders of Valencia, taught us about effective, inspired questions, and Hermana Lima and LeSueur taught us about Companionship Inventory. Following these presentations, Elder Rupa taught us "Lecciones en Español." Elder Downs taught a teaching trick, and President ended the morning session by teaching on the topic Why Do I Need to Be Baptized Again. The missionaries also participed in a práctica (practice session) on explaining the importance of being baptized correctly.

For lunch, we enjoyed pizza and a delicious cake made by Sister Snowden and Gibson. Also during lunch, we have "volver e informar." This is where the missionaries return and report of the numbers of baptisms they had the last month and their new baptismal goal for the next month.

There was also a beautiful musical number by Elders Beck, Stephenson, Gardner and Hermanas LeSueur and Lima.

For the afternoon session, we began with our scriptural memorization challenge and a musical number. Elders Duersch and Bristol, the assistants, gave a presentation called "Tempest Tossed" (an analogy about our mission song, Brightly Beams Our Father's Mercy, and how we need to be consecrated missionaries and a light to the world). President Dayton's afternoon teaching was titled "What Manner of Men Ought Ye To Be." We concluded with a video of our missionaries opening their mission calls, and then we enjoyed a very spiritual testimony meeting.

Elder and Sister Hutchings and I break away to visit the Valencia Oceanographic Aquarium.
